Many different businesses and government organizations require employees to obtain some type of certification. For example, capability maturity model integration or CMMI certification is required for several government programs, and especially for software development. CMMI certification involves the process of identifying, implementing and documenting the best business practices.

The International Organization for Standards (ISO) regulates the standards and oversees quality control of materials and products globally. There are various Iso trainings and certifications are required for certain occupations. For example, Iso 14001 certification is for environmental management standards. In 2010, ISO 14001 was being used by more than 223,000 organizations in 159 different countries.

ISO 22000 certifications have to do with food service management and food safely standards. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point or HACCP training and certification is necessary for employees who handle food, in order to comply with the practices that are safe and efficient. The British Retail Consortium (BRC) introduced the BRC Food Technical Standard to evaluate retail brand food products. The BRC worked with the Retail Industry Leaders Association in 2009 for the development of the North American edition of the Global Standard for Consumer Products.

  2. I am so glad that I live in a country where there are so many regulations and safety standards for food. God bless America!
